Bayfoos is Now Mask-Optional

Masks and contact tracing are now optional (but encouraged) at Bayfoos events.

Bayfoos was closed for most of the pandemic. Even after reopening in 2021, we required masks and contact tracing for all players participating in our events. This was very frustrating for players who wore glasses, since playing with fogged up lenses is difficult. As of April 2022, Bay Area Covid cases are low enough that we’re now making masks optional.

We will continue to pay attention to case rates, and also to Covid wastewater dashboards┬áthat can give early warnings. If we start to see signs of another surge, we’ll switch back to requiring masks. Our goal is to keep our events fun, and having a tournament turn into a superspreader event would not be fun. Let’s do our part to keep each other safe.
